Kriya for Instinctual Self

Kriya for Instinctual Self

As human beings, we share many of our basic instincts with animals – such as the drives for survival, reproduction, and power. However, unlike animals, we have the capacity to consciously guide, refine, and give purpose to how these instincts are expressed. This conscious capacity is what transforms raw survival into creative expression, compassion, and higher awareness.

Many of our most powerful instinctual drives are governed by what yogic science refers to as the Lower Triangle – comprising the First (Root), Second (Sacral), and Third (Navel/Solar Plexus) Chakras. These energy centers correspond physically to the rectum, reproductive organs, and Navel Point, and they form the foundation of our physical vitality, emotional identity, and willpower.

When these centers are imbalanced, the flow of prana (life force) becomes distorted. We may experience this as fear, insecurity, addiction, rage, or apathy – manifestations of instinctual energy that has become fragmented or misdirected. Emotional repression, traumatic experiences, or even chronic stress can block the natural energy flow, causing the body and mind to become stuck in cycles of survival mode.

Yogic tradition teaches that dysfunction in the body reflects dysfunction in the mind, and vice versa. Therefore, true healing must occur on both levels. One of the most effective ways to reset and rebalance the Lower Triangle is through direct physical stimulation – engaging the nervous and glandular systems through kriya and breathwork. When done with awareness, this practice helps to repattern subconscious habits and redirect instinctual energies toward stability, creativity, and inner power.

As the system begins to balance and energy rises upward, the individual becomes more capable of self-observation, meditative awareness, and intentional behavior. The lower instincts are not suppressed but rather integrated – transformed from unconscious impulses into grounded strengths that support your spiritual evolution.

This kriya offers a clear and direct path to initiate this process of inner alignment. It acts as a bridge between your animal nature and your higher consciousness—a practice that reclaims your instinctual power and reorients it toward clarity, presence, and purpose.

Practicing with mindfulness is essential. Keep your attention fully on your body, breath, and inner sensations. Let this be a space where instinct and awareness meet – not in conflict, but in harmony.

When practiced consistently, the Kriya for Instinctual Self becomes a powerful tool for transformation – awakening the wisdom of the body, dissolving unconscious patterns, and creating a strong, stable base for all higher spiritual work.
