Cleansing Herbal Infusion

Cleansing Herbal Infusion

(Best for Kapha)
Makes 1 Quart
This astringent formula is tonifying for conditions of excess moisture, as well as deeply purifying.
Burdock and tulsi motivate the circulation and remove stagnation, while raspberry leaf and nettles lend a balance of cleansing and rejuvenating qualities. Each of these herbs also has a sweet taste—so pleasant to drink!
- 2 heaping tbsp fresh sliced burdock root (1 heaping tbsp dried)
- ¼ cup fresh red raspberry leaves (2 tbsp dried)
- 1 cup fresh nettle leaves (2 tbsp dried)
- ¼ cup fresh tulsi leaves (2 tbsp dried)
Combine the herbs in a 1-qt mason jar and cover with almost boiling water. Cover and allow to steep overnight (8 to 12 hours).
In the morning, use a metal sieve to strain the infusion into another glass jar. Drink at room temperature, or warm gently to drink as a tea.
Sip the quart over the course of the day (always within 24 hours), and make a new batch in the evening for the following day.
