Humanity Rising 1070: Light on Kundalini: Your Lifestyle Guide to Yoga and Awakening (Part 1)
Yoga saved my life. May it help you to live yours. If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Is there more to life than this?” this book is your answer. With a blend of personal anecdotes, expert yogic teachings, and reflective exercises, it’s a companion for every phase of life. Embrace the opportunity—take this journey, explore your inner world, and redefine your reality. With Kundalini Yoga, you can find your authentic voice and true self, alter your engrained narratives, and upshift your own life higher and higher. With dedication and devotion, the practices in this book help you to release blockages that become stored in the physical and mental bodies, resulting in suppression, separation, and pain. From successful careers in modeling and acting, and as the daughter-in-law of Laura Ashley who created a fashion empire, Karuna recounts her life experiences with fashion icons Guy Bourdin, Eileen Ford, Vogue and Mademoiselle, well-known film directors and actors, alongside spiritual leaders Father Thomas Keating, Ken Wilber and many others on her journey to surrender, change, and elevated awakening. For over 40 years, Karuna has studied Yoga, working from the “inside out,” bringing her own unique brand of compassion, enthusiasm and pure joy to every Kundalini Yoga practice. Her certification is with the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI) including Level One, Two, and Three Teacher Training Programs and Prenatal Yoga, and she offers private, one-on-one teachings designed for each individual, holds weekend intensives on varying themes including rebirthings, relationships, women’s issues, practicing nonviolence, understanding grief, and mastering challenges, and leads special events and retreats all over the world including an annual Reboot Retreat in Costa Rica. She practices Ayurvedic healing and is an ordained Interfaith Minister. A former Ford model and actress, Karuna is co-founder of Light on Light Publications and Media and host editor for its magazine’s annual Yoga editions in partnership with the International Day of Yoga Committee at the United Nations. She lives in Boulder, CO.
