Sacred Bonds: From the Root We Grow
April 3 to April 10, 2021
Light On Kundalini is delighted to invite you to our 11th annual Costa Rica Retreat led by Karuna, an Academy Member of the Kundalini Research Institute.
“Earth, mother of the oceans, holds her waters in her womb. A mermaid of the ancients follows the ebbs and tides of the moon.” ~Cher Lyn
The true gift of ebb and flow is suppleness. All fluids move gracefully, elegantly, and smoothly. Imagine the movement of water through a river. Once you trust the river, suddenly you start enjoying. Water freely shapes and reshapes to fit its containers, always maintaining a perfect fit. The integrity of the fluid does not change, just its form. Inflexibility is fear ridden and doubtful, the rigidness comes from the head and creates troubled seas in the soul. Resistant and unwilling thoughts from the head always says you why you shouldn’t go on. Your heart will always know what to do, flow from your heart as you clear out your body, computer, consciousness. In order to assess higher levels.
The medicine of this retreat will bring us understanding that sometimes the tide must go out before it can come in. Sound simple? But when you frame your emotional life with it, it might mean that you must let go of something so something better or more appropriate may come in.
Join us for a week of deep spiritual exploration in the serene and beautiful surrounds of the Blue Spirit Yoga and Meditation Retreat Center in Nosara, Costa Rica. Blue Spirit was rated one of the best yoga escapes by Yoga Journal in 2017.
Blue Spirit is mindful of the current health conditions and has issued guidelines and protocols which can be read here.
Like hatha, ashtanga, and other yoga modules, in Kundalini yoga, we practice postures, referred to as asanas, in a unique kriya, always aligned for different aspects of the ten bodies, which include the soul, the negative mind, the positive mind, the neutral mind, the physical body, the arclines (power points), intuition, the aura, circumvent force, the subtle body, and the radiant body. There are over 4,000 Kundalini yoga kriyas as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Everyday we practice a different kriya in a continuous flow towards unity and awakened awareness towards the authentic self. Chanting brings in a balanced voice to unite us into developing harmony, rhythm, and outstanding flexibility in all aspects of life. Combining yoga and chanting with meditation, we work directly on the brain and brightening the cells’ meridians and over 70,000 nadis (nerve endings) in the body. This yoga is ready for you at every stage and any age you are in right now. We recommend you experience before you read about it, only because its the experience that draws you closer to this awakened state.
The week will include in-depth exploration of the technology of Kundalini Yoga for re-rooting, rest and restoration of the complete self from the stresses of daily life. You’ll develop a fulfilling everyday discipline, creating devotional practice with Sadhana at the ambrosial hour, meditation and chanting, and conscious walking on the ocean front, experiencing deep immersion into the Soul!
For convenience and maximum benefit, sessions include emphases for both relative beginners and seasoned practitioners.
On this retreat we will offer you tools to continually vibrate the frequencies that will assist you in limitless flow. You will relish these times we spend on the beach, floating in the natural waters and feeling the digestive juices of compassion.
Understanding that Kundalini Yoga and meditation along with rebirthings and gong workshops work quickly to rejuvenate, regenerate and reorganize us back to our original blue print, our authentic voice: our sound current, our heart which is the truest art of all!
To grow and to prepare, download the Light on Kundalini App and start practicing today.
The retreat is open to all levels of practice and experience. Families are welcome!

Testimonials from our 2019 retreat
The lush surroundings, beautiful private beach, outstanding healthy cuisine and tranquil setting makes Blue Spirit the perfect place to recharge and reset. It’s my favourite place on the planet when combined with Karuna’s deep teachings and guidance. I leave refreshed knowing I’ve done lots of work on yourself with lasting benefits. A truly transformational experience!

I was encouraged to attend the Costa Rica Kundalini Yoga retreat with Karuna after my partner came back from this retreat the year before. The transformation that I witnessed in my partner, the beauty and glow, and brightness that wasn’t explainable is what got me to start my Kundalini practice in the first place. So fast forward a year, and I find myself very excited about this retreat. A week long, soul searching, challenging, amazing, transformative kundalini yoga experience was just what I needed. Life happens… to all of us… I lost my mom about a month before this retreat. Karuna’s expertise and guidance helped me process and let go of things that I didn’t need to carry. It was the most wonderful experience. Karuna is so miraculous; she is able to tap in so deeply, that she not only makes your individual experience special, but the culture she creates with the group truly makes for a remarkable experience and elevation of mind, body, and soul. All of this, plus the beauty and lush surroundings, and highly nutritious, amazing food of the Blue Spirit Resort in Costa Rica couldn’t be a better combination. What a way to end the year and reset for what’s next! Sat Nam! See you next year!

Teg Ranjeet 2019:
Where to start? Rock bottom? I would like to say that’s where I was, but one can keep falling and falling. Addiction in many forms ravaged my body, emotions, mind, and soul. Drugs, over eating, online shopping, obsessive screen time, and sensual pleasure ruled my life, did I even exist? I had to stop falling. I signed up for this retreat the very last day, through a stroke of grace. After the long trip to Blue Spirit, the walls and boundaries I created to survive my deep pain began to weaken and crumble. Through Karuna’s powerful instruction and gentle guidance of Yogi Bhajan’s teachings, I began to peek at the seat of serenity in my soul. Through the cleansing of the warm, salty, wavy, alive oceans near the resort, my heart began to beat a little lighter and happier. Through the fresh, prana-rich meals prepared by the wonderful staff, I began to feel replenished. And finally, and most important to me, through shared experience with fellow retreat students, I began to be lifted up by their powerful love, support, and guidance, reminding me that we are not alone, and we share the same feelings of pain, addiction, and loneliness created by boundaries and walls we create to shelter our hearts. A day did not pass where my heart didn’t weep at least once, and much more often than that, emptying me completely so that I may filled up again with light instead of darkness. This retreat can help you through whatever you are dealing with, and fill you up again. Wahe Guru. Sat Nam.
